At El Cochinillo Segoviano we have a farming operation called “El Carpio”, located 40 km from the capital of Segovia and with a capacity for 500 mother sows. It is associated with the “Cochinillo de Segovia” Collective Trademark, where only suckling pigs of this type are produced.
The suckling pigs are born and raised under the best conditions, and we are currently in the process of adapting our facilities to European legislation on animal welfare (even though we could legally wait almost ten years), whereby we are eliminating the caging of sows in order to prevent stress and improve their quality of life.
